Hypertext Hotel SW15 is a writing activity we use at Roehampton in a third year innovative writing module. It is inspired by Rob Coover’s 1992 article in which he describes the collaborative online writing project ‘Hypertext Hotel’ he created with his Creative Writing students at Brown University. Since then, the internet has changed. It is much easier to write and publish your own writing online. However, the ideas about multi-vocalism, metafiction, loss of the ‘original’ author, and divergent narrative structures still hold good.
